copy
中英語で、文書の写しやコピーを意味する言葉。古フランス語の名詞copie、動詞copierに由来し、さらにラテン語のcopia（豊富さ）から来ている。中世ラテン語ではcopiam describendi facere（写す許可を与える）のような表現から「写し」を意味した。
