crook
中英語で「曲がった道具や武器」の意味で使われた語。古ノルド語のkrókr（フック、かぎ）に由来します。「詐欺、ずる賢さ、策略」という名詞の意味も中英語で記録されていますが、17世紀までに廃れました。オーストラリア英語の意味はcrookedの短縮形です。
